Can I place an order without creating an account?
Yes. You can place an order as a guest with no obligation to create an account. We do recommend that you create an account, however, if you’d like to check your order history and have your shopping basket items and payment details saved for next time
Where do you ship from?
We ship all orders from Europe from our Germany warehouse, and all international and UK orders from our warehouse in England.
Where is my order, and how can I track it?
We process and ship orders within 1 or 2 business days after your purchase. Once your parcel leaves our warehouse, we'll promptly send you a shipping confirmation email. This message will include your tracking information, allowing you to monitor the status of your shipment at any time.
When will I receive my order?

Do you offer free shipping?
Yes, we do offer free shipping for orders that meet a certain minimum value. The minimum spending required to qualify for free shipping varies depending on the country and the weight of the package. The system automatically calculates whether free shipping applies to your order.
When you add items to your cart, our top banner will indicate whether you've reached the minimum value for free shipping or how much more you need to add to qualify
How long does shipping take?
After your item has been collected from our warehouse by the carrier, the shipping duration will vary depending on the destination country and the selected shipping service. Generally, the following timelines apply:
- US & CAN: Typically arrive within 2 to 4 business days after shipment.
- EU & UK: Usually delivered within 1 to 3 business days after shipment.
- REST OF THE WORLD: Typically arrive within 4 to 6 business days after shipment.
Please keep in mind that customs procedures differ from one country to another and may result in additional delivery days.
I would like to change my delivery address, is this possible?
After placing your order, you may still have the opportunity to update your delivery address, depending on the status of your order.
Please reach out to us promptly to provide the new and complete delivery address.
Our team will assess whether modifications are feasible:
- If your order hasn't been prepared for shipment yet, we'll gladly update the delivery address as per your request.
- However, if your order is already being prepared for shipment, regrettably, we won't be able to make changes to the delivery address at this stage. You will receive an email confirmation with the tracking number once the shipment begins. You can then contact your local courier to provide the new address and coordinate the delivery.
Do I need to pay for customs fees?
Duties and custom fees may apply if you're ordering from outside Europe or the United Kingdom. BY SCOUT does not cover these costs.
For shipments to the US, no customs costs apply unless the order exceeds $800.
Customs duties are determined by your local customs authority, and we have no control over these charges. Customs policies vary greatly from one country to another, so you may want to contact your local customs office for more information.
Please note: BY SCOUT is not responsible for these costs. Refusal to pay the amount upon delivery will result in a €90 fee deducted from any refunds."

My package is missing. What do I need to do?
If you believe your package is lost or missing, we recommend checking with members of your household or neighbors to see if they received or noticed the package. Additionally, please inspect the area around your property as the parcel may have been left there. Then, contact your local courier to verify the delivery status.
If you're still unable to locate your package after conducting these checks, please reach out to us as soon as possible. We may need to initiate an official investigation with the courier within one month from the delivery date. We appreciate your patience as it may take several weeks to fully resolve.
Please allow us time to review and investigate your inquiry with our business partners. Note that according to general courier policies, this process may take 8 to 10 days and may be extended based on seasonal demands
Returns and refunds
What is your return policy?
Sometimes, things just don't work out. It happens!
At By Scout, you can return an item within 30 days from the date of delivery. If you exceed this timeframe, unfortunately, we won't be able to offer a refund, store credit, or exchange. Products that are returned incomplete damaged, worn, or soiled, will not be taken back. Items must have their original labels and be repacked in their original packaging. We do not offer free returns. After you’ve filled your request for a return with us, you will receive an email in which you will find the exact return address information. Please make sure all taxes and duties are covered when you pay for your return. We only process those returns that arrive at our warehouse directly, without customs paperwork or payment from our side.
We recommend always keeping the tracking information, as we may request it as proof of return.

Can I exchange my item for another product or size
We do not offer direct exchanges. We recommend you to place a new order and return the items you do not wish to keep through our online return center. Your refund will be processed the same way as the original payment method within fourteen (14) days from the receipt of the returned items.
How do I return an item?
Please contact our customer service team via shop@byscout.com. Providing the return is within the 30-day cancellation period and meets our return criteria, we will issue you with a return note by email. You need to print this off and attach it to the packaging of the product when returning it to us. You will need to arrange and pay for suitable packaging when returning an item.
How should I prepare my package for return?
Make sure you repack the items the same way you received them.
- Make sure the items can’t move freely in the box and reuse the By Scout tissue paper and bags, to package every single item separately before placing them together in the box.
- The packaging/box must be the original one used and in perfect condition.
- Make sure you include a copy of your order in the box
Do you offer free returns?
We do not offer free returns.
To which address can I send my return?
Once you submit your return application through our return center, instruction and details are sent to you by email.
My return request is under review. What should I do?
When you create a return request and select the return reason "Defective item," we need to review the issue according to our policy before approving your return.
We will contact you as soon as possible and request photos of the damaged goods. We will then review these first. If you cannot provide us with the requested information, we will not be able to investigate and will not be able to complete the request for return or replacement.
When can I expect my refund?
When the return has arrived at our warehouse and is approved, your refund will be processed and refunded to the original payment method of your order within fourteen 14 days.
We shall refund the original price you paid for purchasing your item(s). We do not cover or refund shipping costs ( or customs charges).
Can I also return my items to one of your retailes located in my country?
Items that are purchased through www.byscout.com can only be returned to us directly. If you purchased one of our products directly from one of our retail partners, you need to return your items to them directly.

Our products are suitable for almost all dogs. We always recommend considering your dog's lifestyle when selecting the best item for your furry friend. For example, we suggest our harnesses for dogs that tend to pull during walks, or opting for a water-resistant item if your dog enjoys swimming. If you have any questions or need advice on the best item for your dog, feel free to contact us anytime.
Do I need to measure my dog before selecting a size?
Yes. If you like to purchase a collar or harness, we always recommend measuring your dog first to ensure you have the right size. You can always contact us if you have any questions about the right size for your dog.
Are your products waterproof?
Some of our products are waterproof, while others are not. You can use our store's filtering options to identify which items possess this property

Animal agriculture contributes to approximately 18% of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions and drives deforestation. Moreover, leather production is highly energy and water-intensive, involving numerous chemicals in the tanning process. Despite common belief, many assume that vegan leather alternatives cannot match the quality, luxury, and durability of animal leather. However, this couldn't be further from the truth.

Are your products heavy due to the brass hardware?
Our collars, leashes, and harnesses feature solid brass hardware, making them slightly heavier than products with plastic parts. However, our custom-made hardware is designed to be lightweight while maintaining the highest quality. We ensure that the final product's weight is proportionate to the size of the dogs that will wear them.
