Size & Fit Guide
Harness
How to measure
01 - Use a Flexible Measuring Tape
Wrap a soft measuring tape around the base of your dog’s neck where the front of the harness will sit. Make sure it's snug but not too tight.
02 - Measure the girth of the chest
Measure the widest part of your dog's chest. Make sure to measure behind your dog's front legs so that when they walk or run, the harness will not rub.
03- Check the Measurement and Choose the Right Size
Note the measurement and compare it to the harness size chart. Choose a harness with an adjustable range that includes your dog's neck size.

How to fit our Harness
01 - Adjust the neck straps
Slip the harness over your dog's head. Make sure the By Scout logo and D-ring are on top. The lower O-ring should sit at the base of your chest, adjust the straps.
02 - Adjust the length
Next adjust the length of the harness using the adjustment slider at the base of the harness. Make sure the straps do not rub behind the back of your dog's legs.
03- Check the Strap Length
Adjust the strap lengths so that they are secure against your dog's chest. They should be snug but comfortable.
04- Check the Fit
The harness should now be tight enough so that it does not slip off, but it should still fit comfortably so that it does not rub.

More Use Tips
TIP 01
Size Up If Between Sizes
If your dog’s neck measurement falls between two sizes, choose the larger size for a more comfortable and adjustable fit.
TIP 02
Check and Adjust Regularly. Dogs can gain or lose weight, so check the fit of their collar regularly to ensure it’s still comfortable and secure.
TIP 03
For Fluffy Dogs, Loosen Slightly. If your dog has a thick coat, ensure the collar isn’t too tight when their fur is fully fluffed.
TIP 04
Consider Growth for Puppies | If your dog is still growing, choose an adjustable collar with room to expand.
